Welcome to the Allied Veterans Center Website
I would like to take this opportunity to address some misinformation the public has received through local, state and national news agencies regarding Allied Veterans Center, Inc. due to the allegations of criminal activity by Allied Veterans of the World, Inc. & Affiliates.
Allied Veterans Center is open and conducting business as routine for our Veteran residents. It is true our largest benefactor was Allied Veterans of the World, Inc. & Affiliates. However, we are a wholly independent corporation and 501 C-3 non-profit entity. Our facility has been housing veterans in need of assistance since early March, 2012.
We will continue to serve veterans and focus on those returning service men and women who are post 9-11 veterans and suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). We intend to do all that is needed to stay the course. Amid the recent media blitz, Allied Veterans Center has accepted two new residents this past week.
We currently have 28 veterans enrolled in our "Veterans Helping Veterans" Passport to Independence Program which provides free housing, clothing, meals, education, VA benefits review and adjustment, job placement and assistance in attaining their goal of independent living. Also, 90% of our residents are currently employed either full-time or part-time, if they are in college. There is absolutely no charge to the veteran for the services we provide and to date, we have not received any government funding.
Allied Veterans Center is receiving positive support from our local Military and civilian communities, as well as outstanding support from our local media. They understand our desire to continue to serve these worthy veterans and have offered their support and encouragement during these difficult times.
I encourage you to contact me directly at email@example.com with questions, ideas or support to help in our outreach to homeless veterans.
We ask for your understanding of the above, your prayers and continued support.
Colonel of the Marines, Retired
Chief Executive Officer
